The Kings Arms Temple Sowerby
The Kings Arms Hotel in Temple Sowerby has a four hundred year history as a coaching inn, providing hospitality both to travellers on the old turnpike road and to early tourists – William Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge chose the Kings Arms as a starting point for their exploration of the Lake District in 1799. In those days Temple Sowerby was known as “The Queen of Westmorland Villages”.
The Kings Arms offers bed and breakfast or half board accommodation in comfortable, en-suite rooms. There is a bright and airy residents lounge reserved for guests staying in the Kings Arms, where you can read in front of the fire, play a board game or just put your feet up.

Family room with en suite bathroom. The rate quoted is based on two adults and one child (up to 16). However please call us if you wish to book the room for four occupants as this is not suitable for all of our family rooms or for all ages of child.
The room will be set up as a double with one single bed as default.

The Kings Arms is the perfect place to get away from it all over the Christmas period; a cosy, former coachhouse in beautiful rural surroundings, close to the picturesque North Lakes and many beautiful villages in the Eden Valley. Enjoy a two night bed & breakfast stay for two people over either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or Christmas Day and Boxing Day, for just £290, or stay for all three nights for just £390. Price includes a delicious, home cooked Christmas Dinner, but other meals are entirely at your discretion. Single rooms are also available, please enquire for a price.
