Once the romantic hideaway of a French nobleman and a Moulin Rouge dancer, La Torre had been abandoned until delightful Pilar (now a grown-up lawyer) and her husband Ángel restored the property, transforming it into a super-stylish boutique hotel. At the edge of a sleepy village in the foothills of the Guadarrama Sierra, well-placed for visiting Madrid, the hotel has seven chic rooms filled with art. Original marble and parquet floors blend with striking contemporary furniture and inventive plywood bathrooms. Gaze across to spectacular mountains as you lie in sumptuous beds; the fabulous Tower suite even has sierra views from its bath!
