The Ravensworth, Windermere
The Ravensworth is an elegant, detached Lakeland stone Guest House originally built in the 1850’s as a family residence. Ideally situated in the heart of the English Lake District the house is just a short walk from Windermere Village and only 1 mile to the Lake.
We have 12 charming en-suite bedrooms - one Superior, two Super Kings which can be made into twins, four Kings, three doubles and one single. Apart from our single, all rooms are designed to accommodate 2 adults comfortably (please note, we are unable to accommodate children under 16 years of age or infants). Each room has a flat screen TV (with Freeview), hospitality tray, private safe, toiletries, towels and Free Wi-Fi.
All of our rates are on a Room Only basis but we do offer breakfast baskets containing a bacon roll, croissants, porridge, fruit, yoghurt and orange juice, which can be ordered on a daily basis. Details will be given to you on your arrival.
Guests are welcomed into the lounge where you can make full use of the facilities - browse our library of local walking guides or simply relax in the comfortable surroundings. On warmer days why not retreat to our garden terrace and unwind with a cool drink. Dining out couldn’t be easier with a great choice of local restaurants to suit all tastes within easy walking distance.
We offer ample off-road parking for guests at the front and rear of the building, whilst Windermere train & bus station is only a few minutes’ walk away offering superb transport links across the Lakes.

Terms of Booking:
Please note that we do not have the capacity to accommodate infants, or children under 16 years of age. All of our rates are on a Room Only basis but we do offer breakfast baskets containing a bacon roll, croissants, porridge, fruit, yoghurt and orange juice, which can be ordered on a daily basis. Details will be given to you on your arrival.
Arrivals:
Keys will be available from 11am and rooms are guaranteed to be ready for you by 2pm. Check Ins are available until 8pm
Additional Guests / Beds:
The maximum number of occupants in our rooms is 2 adults (except single room). Guests arriving with more than the maximum number of occupants per room will be refused entry and the full cost of your stay will be charged.
We do not have the facility for additional beds in any rooms.
Checkout:
Checkout time on day of departure is 8.00am - 10:30am and late check outs are not possible.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Ravensworth is a non-smoking guesthouse.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 16 years or infants.
Pets are not allowed.
We recommend that holiday insurance be taken in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Payment Policy
For direct bookings:
On booking, a non-refundable deposit equivalent to the cost of the first night’s stay for each room booked will be required to confirm your reservation. The balance payment will be due on check out.
For bookings made via On-line Travel Agents:
The full payment for your booking will be taken on confirmation.
Cancellation Policy
For Direct Bookings:
If booking is cancelled or postponed with less than 14 days notice prior to arrival then full payment will be due.
We reserve the right to charge full payment for curtailment of your booking.
No-shows will be charged for the full duration of your booking.
For bookings made via On-line Travel Agents:
All costs are non-refundable and non-flexible, full payment will be forfeited.
