Terms & Conditions

Our property has a policy of No Smoking and includes the odor of both cigarettes and marijuana. (Vaping counts as smoking!) If you are found to be in violation of this, you will be assessed up to a $300 fee and the incident will result in termination from the Marquette Hotel property. Also, the burning of incense, essential oils, candles, or flames of any kind are not allowed. You will be solely responsible for any damage to the room.

We allow approved pets including dogs as long as they are not prone to barking, as dogs who frequently bark disturb our other guests. If your dog tends to bark while you're away for the day, you will have to take him/her with you, even if it is before quiet hours. There is a $20 fee per stay for pets with a two pet maximum occupancy. Pets are allowed on the furniture for an extra $10 fee. There is a $20 fine for unapproved pets on the furniture. We have kennels and dog mats available upon request. Any guest who brings unapproved pets onto the Marquette Hotel property will be charged a fee of $50 in addition to the $20 cleaning fee. To approve your pet(s), please write to The Marquette Hotel email address at madisonmarquettehotel@gmail.com informing us you will be bringing your pet(s).

Early check-in is permitted between 11:45 am and 2:59 pm if available. Guests who’s requests are granted will be charged a fee of $10.

Late checkouts are permitted based on availability if requested and approved in advance. Late checkouts up to 10 minutes are free if approved. 11 minutes and beyond, a $15 fee will be assessed. The maximum late checkout allowed is 2:00 pm. We reserve the right to charge $1 per minute for unapproved checkouts made after the 11 am checkout time.

Quiet hours are between the hours of 9:00 P.M. -9 A.M.

The person who made the booking must be 18 years or older and present on the property. We may ask for an ID to verify this. In the event of noise complaints or other disruptions, visitors of the members of the booking party may be asked to leave.

We communicate with guests through text messages and emails.

If we receive more than one noise complaint, you may be asked to vacate the premises and will be subject to the cancellation policy, even if the noise is caused by any person not under that guest's booking. Mobile / Bluetooth speakers are not allowed to be used on the property.

We have a zero-tolerance harassment policy. Not following rules, debating rules, making personal remarks, or any harassment from any person (i.e. staff, guests, the public) while on the Marquette Hotel property may result in that person being banned and removed from the property. Guests who are asked to vacate the property due to harassment or violations of any other rule will be subject to the cancellation policy.

We provide housekeeping upon request. We offer one free day of housekeeping per every three nights booked. Additional housekeeping requests cost $15 per room per day. This service is temporarily unavailable, but will resume post-COVID.

Please do not bring hotplates or cook in the hotel rooms. There will be a $200 charge for violating this rule.

The Marquette Hotel has windows that open. Guests that choose to open the windows are responsible for any water damage that may occur as a result of forgetting to close them. Guests will also be responsible for water damage that occurs from the bath, tub, shower, or sink. Shower curtains must be used inside of the shower. The building is equipped with fire sprinklers. Damage to these will result in water damage with the guest would also be responsible for.

The Marquette Hotel staff reserves the right to enter the room during a guest occupancy if the windows are open and a storm is taking place, however, ultimately the guest is still responsible for any damage created by water coming from the outside.

Check-in time is 3:00 pm. You can check in any time after 3:00 pm. Check out time is 11:00 am.

Our hotel has a self-service automated check-in system. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a unique 4-digit code for all necessary doors. and room number.

For guests who provide a broken credit card, there is a three-day deadline to correct this issue, or the reservation will be canceled.

The Marquette hotel guests use free street parking. No parking permit is required, and there are no meters. Street signs will have helpful guidelines for parking restrictions. Our hotel offers valet parking if preferred. The cost of valet parking is $100 plus the city of Madison parking ramp fees.

Bikes are only permitted indoors on the Marquette Hotel property with approval. Guests who violate this rule will be assessed for damage including tire scuffs to walls and floors. A minimum of $40 will be charged to guests who bring bikes inside without approval. There is a staff member on-site 24 hours a day.

Most of our guest rooms are located on the second and third floor. There is no elevator and no bellhop. No lobby.

Items left behind and requested to be mailed will incur the ground-shipping U.S. Postage rates and may take up to 30 days to receive. We apologize for any inconvenience. To avoid this, please be sure to thoroughly check your room for items that are of value to you prior to your departure. We hold on to lost items for one week. If the cost of shipping is under $8, we will ship the item to you for free. We do not hold on to the following items: socks, underwear, food, beverages, or anything left in the recycling or trash.

We reserve the right to charge for any damage to or removal of items from the premises and/or unusual cleaning.

Damaged or missing items from rooms post check out will be charged to your security deposit on file. These include but are not limited to remote controls, linens, pillows, mugs, books, etc., Please inquire if you have any questions or concerns about this policy. We also reserve the right to charge guests up to $300 for excessively dirty rooms beyond normal wear and tear.

We do not have a front desk. The hotel charges a management fee of $55 / hr rounded up in 15 minute increments for bookings that require extra management due to noise complaints or other non-compliance issues.

Please do not use the beds to eat or drink.

Do not rearrange/move furniture. A fee will be associated If our staff needs to put the furniture back in its original place. Rearranging furniture is a $15 dollar minimum fee.

Do not use bath towels for removing makeup or cleaning.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made five full days or greater prior to the local listing's check in time will be granted a 100% refund.

For cancellations made within five days prior to the listing's local check in time 50% of fees for the stay will be refunded.

For guests who need to leave early, the first night is nonrefundable, but 50% of fees for any remaining nights not spent will be refunded.

New Years Eve (1/01/2022) is a special event day with no minimum nights required. CrossFit games require a three-day minimum booking. (07/27-08/01) Booking Christmas day (12/25/2021) requires a four night minimum booking. The following special-event days require a two-day minimum booking: Madison Ironman (09/12/21), Badger football home games (09/04, 09/11, 10/02, 10/16, 10/30, 11/13, 11/20), Freakfest, Crazylegs, UW Move-in Days (05/09), and UW Madison Winter and Spring graduation (05/07, 05/08). Special-event bookings are non-refundable if the reservation is canceled. Payment will be processed upon booking. Please note, in the event of a national travel ban, the special event policy will be void.

In the event that a special event is cancelled, we will honor our standard room rates.

All cancellations and/or modifications must be provided by email to the hotel email address. You will receive any refund due within 7 days.

Please note that we typically do not allow modifications to the booking while within the cancellation window, but we reserve the right to use our discretion. Unwanted or unneeded dates will have to be cancelled and will be subject to the cancellation fee. If we choose to allow the modification, the new reservation dates are non-refundable.
