The Lodge on Amherst Island

Terms & Conditions

The Lodge, as our name implies, is on an island, surrounded by water and accessed by a car ferry that operates 20 hours a day, 365 days a year. (see instructions following).

Do you provide foods?
No, we operate on a self-catering model. You bring all your own food, and enjoy the use of our well appointed kitchen. If you have not rented all the rooms in the Lodge, you may find your selves sharing the kitchen.

Is there a fridge for food storage and a stove in the kitchen?
Yes, we have a Guest Fridge. There is one stove and two ovens in the Lodge kitchen, the stove is gas.

Are there stores on the island?
The Island has a small general store, offering a limited selection of food items and now an LCBO. It has limited hours of operation. It is best to purchase all the food and gas you will need before you arrive on the island. There are no bank machines on the island.

Can I bring my dog?
No. We allow guide dogs, and require documentation of same ,in writing , prior to arrival.
There are NO other dogs or pets allowed at the Lodge . Because we have had a problem with this lately, we have decided there will be a $500.00 charge if guests show up with a dog or pet...if they choose to leave and not pay the fee, there will be no refund of the monies paid for the reservation.

We will consider catering for large groups; this will be arranged with a separate, written catering agreement. We will also require a separate catering deposit.

Payment Policy

We prefer payment via E-transfer to our email : thelodgeonamherstisland@gmail.com .We accept Visa and MasterCard by phone. If time allows, we accept cheques by mail. Please make cheques payable to “The Lodge on Amherst Island”. There is a $25 charge for cheques returned for any reason.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in writing. The Lodge will retain a fee, of $50 per room, for cancellations received 15 days in advance of arrival. If a cancellation is received 14 days or less before arrival, an amount equal to one night’s stay per room will be forfeited, and retained as a cancellation fee.
