Sakina Area
The Researchers Rest was built in 1991 to house the various researchers when they would come in from the Bush. Back then the house was surrounded by the forest and a coffee plantation, but over the years the city has grown around the property, which has managed to maintain its beautiful garden with a handful of coffee trees. The five bedroom property has three in-suite rooms and two rooms that have private bathrooms with access via the hallway. The sitting room provides an extensive library and the walls are decorated with photographs taken by the many world renowned photographers and researchers that still stay at the Researchers Rest. One can’t argue that the most memorable aspect of a stay is the incredible fresh dishes prepared by Eddie, who has 25 years of experience.

Payment Policy
Payment can be made in advance of stay upon request. Full payment must be made during check-out. Payments accepted on site are Cash (US dollars or TZ shillings) and most major credit cards.
Cancellation Policy
All bookings can be cancelled free of charge until mid-night 14 calendar days prior to arrival. For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival but not less than 3 days prior to arrival the cancellation penalty is equal to the amount due for the first night of the stay. Cancellations less than 3 days or no-show will incur a cancellation penalty of the full value of reservation.
