Terms & Conditions

-Upon confirmation of reservation (30T deposit received) this contract is sent via email. Acceptance of the terms, cancellation policy and conditions of this agreement is inferred if you do not respond back/call/inquire within 24 hours to dispute and it is deemed legally binding. Any fees associated with extra cleaning, day guests, non recycling etc will be charged if the conditions below are not met.
All pricing is quoted in Canadian currency and subject to HST
-Absolutely NO SMOKING in the cottages / No Pets Allowed and if discovered, a $75 cleaning fee will be charged and the guest will be asked to leave the property immediately with no refund.
-Boat Renters must have valid boat license or purchase a temporary boat rental safety check-list and sign a boat rental agreement prior to using the rental boat
- Check in time is 4pm (please call if arriving later). Check Out Time 930am during June& July/August/Labour day weekend and 10am Spring, Fall & Winter.
- Late check out fee of $75.00 will be charged if the cottage is not vacated by 9:30 a.m. (unless previously arranged and approved by management)
-ALL VISITORS (not considered as part of cottage occupancy) must register at the office and pay $15.00/person day guest fees or $25.00 /person night guest fees. Under no circumstances are unregistered guests/visitors allowed at the resort. Due to COVID outside visitors are not allowed
-Ogopogo personnel shall be allowed access to the rental premises at any reasonable time. In the event of any unreasonable noise, rowdiness or inappropriate behavior, the rental customer may be requested to vacate the premises immediately and forfeit the balance of the prepaid rental
-We are on a septic system and only toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilet. All other sanitary items need to be placed in the refuse bin in the garbage
-Guest assumes all responsibility for damages to the rental premises /resort property and assumes responsibility for missing items/equipment in the rental premises understanding that the premises are inspected at check-out
-Rental Customer agrees to leave the premises, chattels, fixtures in the same state of repair as at check-in and shall leave the premises in the same general order and cleanliness in which it was found or fee of $75.00 will be imposed on the credit card used at check-in (excluding laundering of towels and linens) i.e. please clean and return all dishes to cupboards.
- Recycling is strictly enforced in Minden and you must sort and put in recycling bins by garage. If we have to sort your garbage a $50 fee will be imposed.
-Rental customer is responsible for supervision of guests with particular attention paid to children around water (lake/swimming pool) and using playground equipment. Children under age 12 must be supervised by an adult in the pool area at all times. A lifeguard is not present at the resort and swimming in the pool/lake is at your own risk.
-Rental customer recognizes that the resort/recreation areas including the beach, dock area, pool, boats, canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, pedal boats or any other piece of equipment or activity are unsupervised and as such the Rental customer assumes all liability for self, his/her guests/family members and his/her personal property and saves Katherine Alexiou operating as Ogopogo Resort, its officers, directors and employees harmless in the case of accident or injury and that any right to sue has been waived.
-Winter guests are responsible for themselves and minors when on the ice. If going on the ice you are doing so at your own risk and this area is unsupervised
-Guests acknowledge and confirm all conditions as part of their rental contract which constitutes a binding contract between Ogopogo Resort and the Rental Customer and indemnifies and saves harmless Ogopogo Resort from all claims and causes of action by the Rental Customer. This contract will be in effect during the complete rental period and is deemed accepted in full terms if not disputed within 24 hours of issuance. Contracts are issued when 30% deposit is received confirming a reservation
Cancellation Policy:
-September to June reservations-Cancellations made within 8-30 days prior to check in date will lose 30% deposit unless we are able to re-book the cottage for same value less $25+HST admin fee. A full refund will be issued less a $25.00 admin fee if reservation is cancelled more than 30 days in advance. No shows/cancellations made within 7 days of check in date will lose deposit and be charged 100% of balance owing unless we are able to re-book the cottage for the same value. A $25.00 +HST admin fee will be applied
-July & August reservations: Cancellations made within 30-60 days of arrival will lose 30% deposit unless we are able to re-book the cottage for same value less $50 admin fee. No shows/cancellations made within 29 days of check in date will lose the deposit and be charged 100% of balance owing unless we are able to re-book the cottage for the same value. A full refund will be issued less a $50.00 admin fee if reservation is cancelled more than 61 days in advance.
--If renting the entire resort (8 cottages): Cancellations made within 60 days of arrival will lose your entire deposit unless we are able to re-book the cottage for same value less $100 admin fee. No shows/cancellations made within 29 days of check in date will lose the deposit and be charged 100% of balance owing unless we are able to re-book the cottages for the same value. A full refund will be issued less a $100.00 admin fee if reservation is cancelled more than 61 days in advance.
* Ice Fishing : If cancelled less than 10 days in advance or if less people arrive than originally reserved, the total # of people in the original reservation will be charged in full. This is non-negotiable.
--Weather conditions, sudden illness, unable to come to the resort as you or someone in your family has contracted Covid do not void cancellation terms
*COVID19: Ogopogo Resort is following the Ontario Workplace Safety Prevention Services (WSPS) guidelines for cleaning protocols as applicable for hotels/motels. Our staff are taking reasonable efforts to disinfect and sanitize all hard surfaces. Staff have been provided with PPE for their own protection. Soft surfaces (couch/chair) are also being sprayed with disinfectant spray in an effort to control any spread of COVID19. All linens, towels, blankets will be stripped after every guest departure and washed with a disinfectant additive. It is the responsibility of all guests on the property to ensure that appropriate social distancing guidelines are met when outside of their cottage and to utilize provided hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray as they deem appropriate. It is our recommendation that guests wash all dishes/pots in the cottage prior to their use as we check them for cleanliness but are not sanitizing them as part of our enhanced cleaning protocols.
*Guests waive responsibility of Ogopogo Resort of any liability associated with transmission of COVID19 understanding that we have implemented enhanced cleaning protocols as outlined by WSPS and screened guests in advance of their arrival. If a guest or a member of their cottage party does not abide by social distancing guidelines in communal areas all parties within the same cottage will be asked to leave the property without receiving a refund for the remainder of their stay to ensure the protection of remaining guests on the property.

Recommendations: Guests are recommended to bring their own cleaning supplies (for interim cleaning of their cottage), toilet paper (we will provide 5 for a week and 2 for weekend) life jackets, lawn games, board games, hammocks etc.

Payment Policy

-30% deposit required at time of booking to confirm reservation and balance due upon arrival
-If booking dog sledding a 50% deposit relating to dog sledding cost will be taken in addition to 30% for accommodations

Cancellation Policy

Please read details as July/August cancellation policy is different than off season and fish hut cancellation policy:
-No shows/cancellations on cottage accomodations made within 7 days of check in date will lose deposit and be charged 100% of balance owing unless we are able to re-book the cottage for the same value. A $25.00 admin fee will be applied. -Cancellations made within 8-30 days prior to check in date will lose 30% deposit unless we are able to re-book the cottage for same value less $25 plus hst admin fee.
-A full refund will be issued less a $25.00 plus hst admin fee if reservation is cancelled more than 30 days in advance.
-July & August reservations: Cancellations made within 30-60 days of arrival will lose 30% deposit unless we are able to re-book the cottage for same value less $50 admin fee. No shows/cancellations made within 29 days of check in date will lose the deposit and be charged 100% of balance owing unless we are able to re-book the cottage for the same value. -Fish hut cancellation policy: when you advise on the # of people coming for ice fishing you are obligated to pay for all of them unless you advise us 7 days or more prior to your arrival. This allows us to manage huts and potentially book other guests.. Failure to advise 7 days prior means you are obligated to paying for all people at the time you booked
-Dog sledding cancellation policy: All deposits (50% of dog sledding cost) are non-refundable within 15 days of your expected arrival. A $25 administration fee will be applied to all cancelled reservations outside of the 15 days. In the event we Halliburton Forest have to cancel your reservation for any reason your dog sledding deposit will be refunded in full but you are still obligated to your cottage reservation.
