Gîte - Maison des Abeilles Book

La Maison des Abeilles (The Bee House) Sleeps 7 in three bedrooms.

So called because this ancient converted chai or barn used to house a swarm of bees, which were collected and put in a hive in the park, and now provide us with delicious lime and lavender honey!

Situated at the far end of the big courtyard under an archway, there are French windows leading into a big, high open plan room. The well-fitted kitchen in one corner has a gas range, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and larder. There is a central island with breakfast bar, sitting area with TV/DVD player, and wood burning stove. Wood is stacked under the archway ready for use. There is underfloor gas heating throughout the downstairs with radiators and towel rails on the first floor.

The dining area leads to stairs going up to a gallery, under the huge Velux windows which throw plenty of light. By the sitting area French windows open onto a wide, curved terrace with dining table and chairs and comfortable seating with cushions.
This south-west facing terrace overlooks the 3 acres of sloping "parc", with its two avenues of trees, meadow, tree house and children's play area, and views over the walls to the hills beyond.

Downstairs there is a double bedroom (1) with Queen-size bed, large shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC, heated towel rail. This room is suitable for disabled or elderly guests, with easy access, although the toilet is normal height. Off this bedroom is the boiler room and airing cupboard.

Upstairs off the gallery there is a double bedroom (2) with Queen-size bed, overlooking the parc, with a bathroom which includes bath, shower, WC and basin, heated towel rail.

Bedroom 3 has twin beds which can become a King-size double, and a built-in full sized bunk bed. The bathroom has bath with shower attachment, WC and basin, heated towel rail. There are three stairs leading up to a door into a very low-beamed landing with a library, including children's books, and boxes of children's toys and games, which can all be borrowed. This landing has stairs which lead to the courtyard, and access to the main house and chambres d'hôte. If you need more bedrooms that can be arranged as they are easily accessible from the Bee house.

Gîte - Maison Blanche Book

Maison Blanche has a terrace with garden furniture. French windows to entrance hall and also to separate salon. Comfortable salon with fireplace. Kitchen dining room includes built in oven, microwave, gas hob with extractor, built in dishwasher, fridge, freezer and separate wine fridge. Generous storage and ample wooden worktop areas. Cloakroom/ WC on ground floor.

Open staircase to oak floored landing with each bedroom off. 2 bedrooms each with double or twin beds plus ensuite full bathroom each with both bath and separate shower and WC. Full central heating. Internet access provided  via free WiFi. Special features include separate hallway with natural light from full height ceiling, spacious salon with French windows to sunken terrace with full shade for hot weather, double doors to fully equipped kitchen/dining room with utility room off, 2 large double bedrooms each with large ensuite bathrooms.

Gîte - Maison Perroquet Book

Maison Perroquet  has a terrace with garden furniture. French windows to open plan dining room with superb galley kitchen behind breakfast bar. Comfortable small salon with double aspect stone fireplace and low stone separation from dining area. All with tiled floors. Kitchen includes built in oven, microwave, gas hob with extractor, built in dishwasher, fridge, freezer and separate wine fridge. Generous storage and large wooden worktop areas. Small shower and WC on ground floor.

Open oak staircase to oak floored full gallery with each bedroom off. Master bedroom with double or twin beds plus ensuite full bathroom with both bath and separate shower, WC and dressing room off. Second ensuite shower room with WC. Smaller double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower and separate WC. Full central heating. Internet access provided in all areas via free WiFi.

Special features include a magnificent gallery letting roof light into the open plan downstairs dining room with sitting area off, Sireuil stone fireplace open both sides, superb kitchen equipped for keen cooks with long dividing bar allowing conversation. Upstairs, a master bedroom with both shower room and also bathroom with whirlpool bath, each with WC and a dressing room off the bathroom.

Room 1 Book

This Ground floor bedroom has a Super King-size bed (1.80cm wide x 2m long), this room is the closest to the dining room and guest’s kitchenette. Room One has French windows to its own area of terrace with table & chairs.

This room was formerly the original kitchen in the 18th Century Logis and the fine Charentais stone fireplace reflects its original function. It has terracotta tiles and a cool airy feel. The bathroom is spacious and has an Italian fully tiled shower as well as the bathtub with handshower. There is separate WC with handbasin. This room can also be booked as interconnecting with Bedroom 2.

Hairdryer and extra pillows are provided in the spacious fitted wardrobes. In each bedroom there are comfortable chairs with space to relax. All bedrooms have good heating for the cooler seasons.. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and a satellite decoder with a range of channels. Internet access available in all areas via free WiFi.

Decorated in soft Wedgwood blue and cream this Ground floor bedroom normally has a Super King-size bed (1.80cm wide x 2m long). It is reached by French windows from its own area of terrace with table & chairs.

This room was formerly the original salon in the 18th Century Logis and the fine Charentais stone fireplace is the finest we have. It has terracotta tiles and an elegant but relaxed feel. The bathroom is spacious and has an Italian fully tiled shower as well as the bathtub with handshower. There is separate WC with handbasin. This room can also be booked as interconnecting with Bedroom 1.

This large room on the first floor is under the eaves and is cool and shaded in warm weather. It has a large landing outside with a sitting area and the guests have tables and chairs on the terrace below this room shaded by a large linden tree. This spacious room has a large king-size bed (1.80cm wide x 2m long), or twin beds are also available on request.

Additional hair dryers and pillows are provided in the closets. This room has its own bathroom with corner bath with handshower and a separate toilet. There are comfortable chairs and a sofa with space to relax. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and a satellite decoder with a range of channels. Internet access available in all areas via free WiFi.

It has a large landing outside with a sitting area and guests have tables and chairs on the main terrace shaded by a large “tilleul” tree. This spacious bedroom has a Super King-size bed (1.80cm wide x 2m long), which can also be converted into two singles (90 cm wide) if preferred.

Hairdryer and extra pillows are provided in the spacious fitted wardrobes. This room has its own large en suite bathroom with corner bath with handshower and a separate WC. This room can also be booked as interconnecting with Bedroom 5. In each bedroom there are comfortable chairs and sofa with space to relax. WiFi.

Breakfast is included and served in the dining room or on the south-facing terrace overlooking the Logis courtyard. Breakfast includes fresh juices, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread and croissants, butter, jams and tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Room 5 Book

On the first floor this bedroom has its own entrance with independent staircase and is under the eaves with very low beams and is cool and shady in warm weather.Guests have tables and chairs on the main terrace shaded by a large “tilleul” tree. This cosy bedroom has two single beds (90 cm wide) which can be joined together as a double. All bed linen is white Egyptian cotton and white fluffy towels are provided, also coloured swimming towels. Hair dryer and extra pillows are provided in the spacious fitted wardrobes. This room has its own en suite bathroom with corner bath with handshower and a WC. This room can also be booked as interconnecting with Bedroom 4. In each bedroom there are comfortable chairs with space to relax.
