Welcome to the Cutty Sark! When Commander Koch retired from the US Navy after serving 25 years, he and Mrs. Koch had the opportunity to travel the World. Well over 100 foreign Countries They stayed in Grand Hotels and some not so Grand. What they loved best were small, simple, family operated Vacation Properties. They decided they would offer such a facility for vacationers and travelers. For over 46 years the Koch Family has welcomed guest to The Cutty Sark Efficiencies and Historic Cottages. More than a Century of Coastal Architecture on one corner of Beautiful Virginia Beach, the Worlds Largest Resort City. The Cutty Sark Revels in its Vintage History and hopefully will ever remain so.
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach’s serene North End, the Cutty Sark Motel & Historic Cottages are the perfect destination for your family vacation. full efficiencies and spacious apartments will quickly feel like your summer home away from home, leaving you more time to explore the oceanfront and enjoy your Virginia Beach vacation! We are just 5 minutes from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. From your efficiency's private balcony, watch the sun rise over the Atlantic's dolphin playground while enjoying breakfast and coffee made at your own kitchenette. Your feet won't have far to travel beyond your front door before they’re strolling among the boutiques on Atlantic Avenue or dipping into the warm sand and cool surf. We provide parking for one vehicle per unit. On street and Garage parking nearby.. Our little Hotel is small. There is a specific number of persons in each reservation. For reasons of comfort, safety, security and health , only those listed are permitted to be on the property. This property is not for inviting or entertaining outside guest . Mrs. Koch and her family have welcomed Virginia Beach guests to the Cutty Sark. This cottage apartment has two private bedrooms, each with a double bed and a dining room table, which seats four.

Located on the west side of the White House is the West Wing apartment. With one bedroom containing two double beds and one bedroom with one double and two twin beds, this apartment comfortably sleeps 6-8 people. The West Wing has a large living room with a wraparound sofa and a full eat-in kitchen. This is a great option for a family holiday.

Mrs. Johnson's apartment is the largest cottage apartment we have available for rent. It's located in the downstairs of the White House and has a spacious enclosed porch with a view of the Virginia Beach boardwalk. This apartment comfortably sleeps 6-8 people and has a large eat-in kitchen as well as a separate dining room and dining table that seats 6-8 people.

There are also two private bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds. Our duplex apartments are great for 4-6 people.

No need to go rent linen and make beds after a long drive. Ocean Beach and award winning Boardwalk are less than half a football field from your front door

Terms & Conditions
For reasons of Personal Comfort, Health , Safety and security of our guest and our staff, the maximum number of persons
in Efficiency Units is two (2). Children and infants are included in that number.
All units are no smoking. Violation will result in a charge.
Each of our Cottage units list a Maximum Number of persons, that number includes adults, children and infants.
Persons under 21 must be with a parent.
For reasons of comfort, safety, health and security the number of persons in your unit should never exceed the maximum you have listed.
We do require the names of all persons occupying the Cottages and efficiencies.
Our cottages and efficiencies are not to be used for inviting and/or entertaining unregistered guests. Should anyone else other than the registered guests be identified occupying any of our rental properties, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the rental agreement with no refund.
Photo ID is required at check-in for the person confirming the reservation. Credit card holder must register for accommodations and must present credit card at check-in. Reservation request must include full address of applicant and a current phone number. No third party reservations
The hotel and its staff reserve the right to enter your room for any purposes including, but not limited to performing maintenance and repairs or checking on the safety and security of guests and property. The hotel will give reasonable notice prior to entry by knocking and announcing the intent to enter the room.
We can only provide parking for one vehicle per unit. On street and Garage parking are near-by.
We reserve the right to cancel any reservation for failure to abide by rules.
Payment Policy
To confirm your reservation you will be charged a prepayment of 50% of the total price of the reservation, and the remaining balance will be charged 30 days before arrival.
Full address of credit card holder is required. Cardholder must register at check-in. Invalid credit card numbers will cancel your reservation. Cardholder is required to check in and present ID No third party reservations
For Beach Cottage's, a security deposit of $300.00 will also be charged which is fully refunded if the unit is left as you found it - clean and in good repair.
We can accept MasterCard , VISA and American Express. There is a 5% processing fee .
The Beach Cottage's are self catering. The beds will be made with fresh ironed sheets. Bring your bath and beach towels and paper products.
Cancellation Policy
You will be charged 50% of the total price of reservation if you cancel after reservation is confirmed, and you will be charged the total price of reservation if you cancel less than 30 days before arrival - . We recommend travel insurance
We reserve the right to cancel any reservation for non compliance.
